Garthorpe Village Hall
Garthorpe Village Hall (also known as the Garthorpe Sport and Community Centre) was built in 1991 to serve the needs of the parish of Garthorpe and Fockerby and surrounding villages. It was planned, designed and built almost entirely by local people as volunteers, using funds raised through activities such as “the Garthorpe Gala” and with some financial assistance from the local authorities of the time. It is located on the site of the former Primitive Methodist Chapel but is now owned by the Parish Council and run by a management committee.
As well as offering the hall for hire for a variety of purposes, the management committee run events for the benefit of the village such a children’s parties, band nights and other entertainment, sometimes involving the playing field and/or the church.
The management committee is always pleased to hear from anyone who would like to get involved, whether by helping at ongoing events or proposing and organising new activities. Special hire arrangements can be agreed with those that would like to provide regular activities of community benefit. Please fill in the form.
